In honour of the Great British Bake Off - which I adore - I have decided to trawl the Intarwebs for the very best in cake art that speaks to the geek in me. Check it!

1. Millenium Falcon

2. Steampunk

3. Dungeons and Dragons

4. Retro Game Cupcakes

5. Nightmare Before Christmas

6. Dragon

7. Discworld

8. Books!

9. Fairy Carousel

10. Release the KRAKEN!

Aren't they awesome? Which is your favourite?

  1. They are all so awesome! I think I like the dragon with the D2O or the octopus. I could never eat them though. They're art!

  4. I am always amazed at what people can do.

I like the books one and the Fairy Carousel (the two horses) the best.

The octopus-one looks downright freaky D:

  5. All of them look good. But my favourite is the Discworld cake, it looks absolutely incredibly good.

  6. Being a huge Pratchett fan, I would want the Discword one - but it's far too beautiful to eat! The octopus one is pretty awesome, too.

  8. They all look amazing, especially the kraken. I always wonder how good such fancy cakes taste, though. Fondant = icky.

  9. The kraken is the best work of art. I like the cupcakes cos they're clever & I spotted Othello! I was a god at Othello, a god I tell you!

  10. The worst part about those cakes is that I could never ever eat them! They're all too awesome to ruin by taking a bite out of!

As for my favourite, I'm torn between the books, the dragon, the Millenium Falcon, and the steampunk cake.

  11. I want that Discworld cake so bad. Though the D&D one looks pretty damn good too.
