Well, I am partway through a book, so no handy reviews to post. Instead, I thought I'd pop this online. It made me giggle a lot, although, on reflection, it might be a little inane. Only problem is, I don't know who to credit it to! If you've seen it before and know who produced it, let me know so I can link them up! I don't want to be a big old content stealer.
Enjoy your Friday - the weekend is in sight!

True enough, I suppose. Still, I'll watch the likes of House and CSI every week knowing full well how the episodic formula works. Sometimes, as in the case of Avatar, it's all about the journey towards that inevitable conclusion, and the journey in Avatar - the spectacle of it, at the very least - was well and truly worth the price of entry. Still my other half's favourite movie in ages, and I'd be hard pressed to think of anything better in the past year myself.
ReplyDeleteNot that you were knocking it! Don't mind me, just riding me high horse while my coffee gets cold. :)
It was just one of those things that made me chortle, so I thought I would share. There has not been a film in an age that has divided opinion like Avatar. I was talking earlier with someone else who feels the same as me about it; one of my work colleagues now ranks it number one film of all time (IHNSHO); and you enjoyed it well enough - at least to comment here!
ReplyDeleteSo you ride your high horse and I'll chortle away in a childish manner and we'll both be happy (and at least I didn't forget something quintessentially Scottish in this post!)
This made me laugh more than anything. James Cameron may be beholden to archetypes more than he cares to admit? If so, Lucas is laughing at him from behind his copy of The Hero with A Thousand Faces. ;)
