I was sent the other one, to be fair, but couldn't find a decent res piccie of it when I went scouring the Internet that didn't require some manipulation. Yep, you've just discovered how very lazy I can be with this blogging lark ;-)Magemandahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08986754628836562869noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8463395374040679379.post-8324933707556349592010-07-04T17:52:09.539+01:002010-07-04T17:52:09.539+01:00@Niall - whoa wait WHAT, he wrote Broken Sword?? Maybe I'll reassess my desire to read this one quickly?

@ Niall - Ah, but that is the beauty of this wonderful world of literature in which we play! One man's treasure is another man's dross. I have to admit, some of the books that you've raved about have left me cold. Maybe we should concede that we don't overlap too often? And therefore, jointly, we are a publishers wildest dream, since we ensure ALL the books are read and enjoyed ;-)Magemandahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08986754628836562869noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8463395374040679379.post-89862168628600054032010-07-04T13:23:51.945+01:002010-07-04T13:23:51.945+01:00Anything I'm interested in? The Greg Egan most of all, I'd say - been meaning to try the man's work for a long while now, and a slim, standalone novel seems like the perfect way to do so.

Have to say I'm a bit baffled by the Johannes Cabal love. Read through the first one a few weeks ago to be ready for the Detective and I thought it was all a bit tepid - and I bloody love the Broken Sword games Howard wrote before. To each his or her own, of course, but I'll admit to being slightly bemused it took your book of the year (so far) trophy on one hand and left me so nonplussed on the other.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08713791516631476930noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8463395374040679379.post-41695612472237123342010-07-04T12:36:47.909+01:002010-07-04T12:36:47.909+01:00Zendegi sounds like it could be quite interesting....Zendegi sounds like it could be quite interesting. The premise, while a little overdone, is still one that can be pulled off well if the author knows what they're doing, and I'm interested to see your review of that one.Tea and Tomeshttp://tea-and-tomes.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.com
